Our Team

Peter R. Abuls

Peter is a First Vice President at Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett, and a trustee of the firm’s 401(k) plan.  Prior to joining the firm, Peter was a Sr. Vice President of Investments at First Union Securities.  He began his career in the securities industry in 1985.  He earned his undergraduate degree at Tennessee Tech in 1982 and his MBA in finance at Western Michigan in 1984.  Peter is married, has three children and enjoys golf.


 

Richard A. Bone, CFP

Rich is a Certified Financial Planner and First Vice President at Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett and a member of the Howe Barnes Capital Management Investment Committee.  After graduating in finance from Illinois State University in 1983, Rich joined Pines Financial Group where he was a partner from 1985 through 1999.  In 1999, Rich joined Jim and Peter in forming their current partnership.  Rich is married, has three children and enjoys music, reading, fitness and golf.
                       
 

James A. Eller

Jim is a First Vice President at Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett, Inc. Prior to joining the firm, Jim was a Sr. Vice President of Investments at First Union Securities and its predecessor firms dating back to 1992. He is a 1983 graduate of Illinois State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Jim is an active member of the Mundelein Feeder Baseball Program.  He is married, has two children and enjoys camping, fishing and boating with his family.

                        
 
Karen M. Carsello

Karen is a Registered Sales Assistant. Prior to joining our team, Karen was a member of her family's investment business at First Union Securities where she worked as both an Investment Consultant and Sales Assistant. She began her career in the securities industry in 1983 and is a graduate of Loyola University. Karen is married and enjoys traveling.

        
 

Michael G. Pajak

Michael is an Investment Management Analyst at Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett, Inc.  Prior to joining the firm, Michael was a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones.  Michael began his career in 1999 at Morningstar where he worked for 6 1/2 years in various roles involving mutual funds.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Administration in 1999 from DePaul University.  Michael is married and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

    
 

Jennifer M. Schols

Jennifer is a Registered Sales Assistant. Prior to joining Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett, Inc. Jennifer was a Sales Assistant for the Abuls, Bone & Eller team at First Union Securities. She is a 1995 graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Jennifer currently serves as the Family Teams Chairperson for the March of Dimes North Suburban March for Babies.  She is married and has three children.
